About Friends of Horfield Common
Friends of Horfield Common is a volunteer group, which works in collaboration with The Ardagh (ACT) and Bristol Parks.
We focus on maintaining and improving the Common, as well as providing community events for neighbours to get to know each other and be in nature together. Check out the presentation from our initial meeting, in order to learn the how the FOHC operates and organises.
If you're interested in FOHC, either as an individual or as another Parks group/organisation that would like to work together, please get in touch!

History of FOHCFriends of Horfield Common started in 2006, when a group of neighbours and interested residents formed a Parks group to works towards the continued access to, availability of, and improvement of Horfield Common.
When the future of the Common was threatened by development, FOHC came together to protect the site known as The Ardagh. To ensure the ongoing future of the site, the original FOHC became The Ardagh Community Trust, who now operate the café, tennis courts and garden there. In 2023, the Friends of Horfield Common was set up once more, to bring people together who love the Common! |
Past projects
Since being established in 2006, Friends of Horfield Common volunteers have delivered a wide range of projects.
We look forward to updating with projects ongoing from 2023! |
