Time: 11am-1pm Location: Wildlife pond - below The Ardagh (https://w3w.co/raves.names.union) Work is being done by volunteers to restore the pond and make it a wonderful home for local wildlife and plant life once again! The pond will be dredged, overgrown vegetation will be removed, and the mud will be used to build up the banks. Sessions on Mondays will be conducted with Freeways Trust, and sessions on Sundays will be open for volunteers. Please be aware that this is physical work that isn't suitable for children. Please email [email protected] if you would like to attend any or all sessions. We'll really need volunteers for this event - any time you can spare will be very much appreciated!

Time: 2-3pm Location: around Horfield Common, so please be prepared to walk/cross roads! Come and join local historian Andy Buchan on a free guided walk, to learn about the rich history of Horfield Common! There are only 15 places available. Time: 11am - 1pm Location: please meet by green "Horfield Common" sign at the front of The Ardagh, and we'll walk over to the planting location Help bring some colour to the Common next Spring! We'll be planting daffodil bulbs, which were kindly donated to The Ardagh. Drop-in for however long you'd like - no need to sign up beforehand. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring gardening gloves/planters if you can. Date: Sunday 17th September
Time: 2pm-3pm Location: Garden Room (the room to the right of the cafe, The Ardagh) If you're interested in volunteering around the Common, come and drop by our FOHC September Volunteer Meeting! We'll be discussing ongoing projects and what we'd like to get up to over the coming months - all welcome to join! Date: 9th September
Time: 10am - 11:30am (Reserve session in case of rain is 10th September, 2-3:30pm) Location: please meet by green "Horfield Common" sign at the front of The Ardagh, and we'll walk over to the meadow patches together Help prepare the meadow patches around the Common for autumn! The Council will be cutting the meadow patches and then we'll be taking over to rake and move the cuttings, to ensure that the meadow (and not grass!) will grow next year. Please note that this will be physical work with using tools and wheelbarrows. We'll be adding a bench audit to our Monthly Litter Pick, on the 26th August! Come and help us across the Common to identify benches that need repairs - and pick up a few bits of litter at the same time! Please bring a pen and a phone to take photos, but all other resources/equipment provided - simply meet by the green "Horfield Common" sign as usual. Date: 16th August

This will be a light meeting to share the past, present and future of FOHC, including how FOHC works with the council to organise events, getting involved with volunteering, and how to stay updated.
